First American Title Insurance Company is proud to introduce the EAGLE Policy -- our expanded title coverage for owners of one-to-four family residences, including condominiums.

The EAGLE Policy is new, and it provides more coverage automatically than any previous policy.

It affords homeowners the superb protection of an ALTA Plain Language Owner's Policy -- plus 10 important new coverages and other valuable protections.

Some of these coverages are completely new, and never before offered by any title insurer. Some of these even provide post-policy protection. Some have been offered previously only by endorsement, which had to be specifically requested. And all of these coverages are in addition to the legal defense benefit always provided by title insurance, which affords protection to the homeowner without reducing the policy amount.

None of these new coverages have ever been automatically included in an ALTA Plain Language Owner's Policy, or any owner's policy...until now!

And There's More...

Now, the policy amount will increase annually. With EAGLE Protection, in each of the first five years First American will increase the policy amount by five percent of the original amount. This will help cover increases in the value of the property by raising the limit of insurance protection afforded by First American. Living Trust Coverage is new, too. The protection of First American's EAGLE Policy extends to the trustee of a trust who receives a deed from the homeowner after the policy date. No new policy or endorsement is required to maintain existing coverage in such transfers.

Why we did it

The EAGLE Protection Owner's Policy was created to benefit homeowners and real estate professionals. For homeowners, we recognized a need for more coverages, including some that have not traditionally been offered by title insurers, some that deal with post-policy title matters that have not been a part of title insurance at all, and some that have only been available previously by endorsement when specifically requested. For real estate and escrow professionals, we saw a need to reduce homeowner concerns that created call-backs and professional challenges arising from incidents not covered by title insurance. The result was the EAGLE Policy, offering greater protection and increased peace of mind.
