MapTrak

Expanded flood insurance regulations now place much of the burden of compliance on the mortgage servicer. MapTrak, a proprietary system developed by First American Flood Data Services, was created to help mortgage lenders maintain ongoing compliance with flood regulations and to avoid the cost and legal exposure of a portfolio review.

MapTrak tracks servicing portfolios for flood map revisions by initially coding each loan file with a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) flood map number and updating the file as maps are revised. The client is then notified when a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) or community status changes, ensuring ongoing compliance.

With MapTrak, full compliance is achieved quickly and without prohibitive costs.
