Richard Chen joined Title Industry in 2005 as a Business Development Consultant. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2002 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A native of Taipei, Taiwan, he and his family now make their home in Milpitas, California.
Richard Chen became the Director of Foreign Relations with First American Title in Fall 2011. He is in his 12th year in the Real Estate Industry and 10th year in the Title Industry. Having a multifaceted industry background, Richard is known for his knowledge of title and escrow and analytical foresight into solving issues. Prior to 2009, Richard served on the Board of Directors to CAREA and AREAEB. Richard has been regularly invited to speak on how to navigate the unique aspects of title and escrow specific to foreign buyers and sellers.
An exciting aspect or Richard’s work has been utilizing First American’s international resources to assist buyers around the world. He travels to Asia several times a year as liaison between United States and other Asian Counties and has brought together investors and agents across this cultural and linguistic divide. Richard assists with language, and explains local real estate customs and considerations, most importantly educates on title and escrow – an industry that does not exist in most Asian Countries.
