Title Insurance An aircraft is a significant investment. Anyone purchasing an aircraft should consider title insurance as an important element in the transaction. If a claim against the aircraft surfaces after you purchase it, it can be expensive and time consuming to defend against the claim. Legal fees may exceed the amount of the claim. You have to pay your attorney even if the claim is determined to be invalid. Worse yet, the claim could be valid. You will then have to pay off the claim or lose your airplane. With limited exceptions, title insurance can protect you from such losses. For any covered claim, title insurance will also provide defense of the claim. Even if you lose, title insurance will pay the claim or pay you your loss, up to the limits of the policy.
