First American Title appoints Craig F. Thomsen as Utah state manager

February 4, 1985, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Craig F. Thomsen has been appointed Utah state manager for First American Title Insurance Company. The announcement was made by William G. Was, chairman of the board. Thomsen succeeds the late Mark Eggertsen, president and founder of First American Title Company of Utah and Security Title Company, Salt Lake City.

In addition to his duties as state manager, Thomsen is president of Security Title Company, a subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Company. He has been with Security Title since 1969 and was promoted to president in 1983. Later, Thomsen also was named vice president and assistant state manager of the parent firm.

Thomsen is past president of the Utah Land Title Association. He has been a member of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Salt Lake since 1971 and currently serves on their board of directors. Thomsen also is a member of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

Born in Salt Lake City, Thomsen received a bachelor of arts degree in marketing from the University of Utah. He spent two years in the U.S. Army and 10 years in the Utah National Guard.
