First American Title issues San Diego County housing market survey
September 16, 1985, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
Over 350 residential subdivisions were surveyed. San Diego County was geographically demarcated into the following submarkets: Coastal North, Inland North, Central East and South Bay. Coastal North was the most actively selling area in San Diego County with over 85 projects conducting sales. The City of Carlsbad had the most activity with a total of 21 projects on line.
New home prices ranged from $81,500 to $600,000 for condominiums, townhomes and duplexes and from $96,900 to $203,990 for single-family homes. The average price per square foot was $113.51 for the attached product compared to $84.47 for detached. Weekly new home sales rates in Carlsbad continue to be strong, averaging 1.06 and 1.31 for attached and detached, respectively.
