First American Title promotes Eric G. Shield to assistant vice president


February 4, 1985, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Eric G. Shield of Irvine has been promoted to assistant vice president of First American Title Insurance Company. He will be working at the corporate level in the national subdivision development department. The announcement was made by D.P. Kennedy, president and chief executive officer of the firm.

Prior to his promotion, Shield was manager of subdivision sales for Orange County Title Division of First American. He started with the company in 1979 as a district manager for the Irvine area.

Shield is currently a director and membership chairman for the Orange County Chapter of the Building Industry Association (BIA). He is a member of the executive committee of the Home Builders Council (HBC) of the BIA, Southern California, serving as first vice president and director. Shield also is vice president and director of the Youth Housing Opportunity Program of the HBC.

Born in Los Angeles, Shield graduated from Foothill High School in Tustin. He holds an associates degree from Santa Barbara City College.
