May 10, 1985, HOUSTON, TEXAS

George M. Cooley has been appointed to the position of executive vice president of First American Title Company in Houston, Texas, an agent for First American Title Insurance Company based in Santa Ana, California.

Cooley started with First American in 1980 as sales manager for the Houston office. He became an agency representative in 1982 and was promoted to vice president in 1984. Cooley recently returned to Houston after a year in Austin, where he helped coordinate the opening of First American Title Company of Austin.

A native of Ohio, Cooley has resided in Texas for the past 14 years. He holds a B.B.A. degree from North Texas State University, Denton.

Cooley has been active in industry and civic organizations having served as chairman of the Harris County Land Title Association, arbitrator for the Houston Chamber of Commerce and member of the Oak Hill Chamber of Commerce in Austin.
