Gerald H. Stool elected to board of directors of The First American Financial Corporation


Gerald H. Stool, a private investor and director of American Century Corporation, San Antonio, Texas, has been elected to the board of directors of The First American Financial Corporation.

Stool has been involved in real estate investments since 1978. From 1973 until 1978, he was vice president of Ryan Mortgage Company in Arlington, Texas, where he acted as liaison between lenders and developers represented by Ryan Mortgage. He was in Housing and Urban Development in Dallas from 1971 to 1972.

Stool received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas in Austin. He has served on the board of directors of American Century Corporation since 1984. American Century, a member of the New York Stock Exchange, is a commercial real estate investment firm.

Stock of First American Financial is traded on the National Over-The-Counter Market. With national headquarters in Santa Ana, the firm's principal subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Company, operates through branches, subsidiaries, affiliates or agents throughout the United States and in Guam, Mexico, Puerto Rico and England.
