First American Title appoints John A. Buehler as assistant vice president-employee benefits

In his newly created position, Buehler will have responsibility for the administration of employee benefits, including pension and profit sharing plans, group medical and dental insurance, long-term disability and life insurance. The company currently employs 6,000 people nationwide. Buehler's duties will also include assisting in the administration of automobile and liability insurance as well as personnel matters at the firm's corporate headquarters in Santa Ana.
For the past three years, Buehler has been a title officer with First American's Orange County Title Division. Earlier, he was a subdivision consultant in the same office for three years.
Before entering the title business, he was a teacher for Whittier Union High School District, Calif., for eight years. He taught history and coached varsity football, track, soccer and wrestling.
Buehler, who was born in Whittier, graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. degree. He was a member of the U.S.C. varsity track team from 1968-71. He and his family reside in Anaheim.
