First American Title names Mary Elizabeth Powell and Craig J. Zinda as assistant counsel


October 3, 1988, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Two new assistant counsel have been named at First American Title Insurance Company, according to Parker S. Kennedy, executive vice president.

Mary Elizabeth Powell of Irvine will be assisting Oscar Beasley, the company's senior title counsel. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and research from California State University, Long Beach, and earned her juris doctor degree form University of Southern California. After a year with a law firm in Santa Ana, she worked with a Costa Mesa publishing firm specializing in legal publications as editorial director-counsel.

Craig J. Zinda of Mission Viejo received his bachelor and juris doctor degrees from University of Wisconsin, and completed a master's of law degree at the University of San Diego. He will assist the legal department with the administration of claims. The attorney worked with law firms in Santa Ana and Long Beach before coming to First American. During six years in the Marine Corps, Zinda became a pilot and achieved the rank of captain.
