First American Title sponsors symposium on toxic waste

A symposium on toxic waste will be presented on Tuesday, September 27 at the Irvine Hilton Hotel. "The Toxic Waste Issue" is sponsored by First American Title Insurance Company of Santa Ana.

The symposium will address concerns of lenders and developers. Stephen J. Baker, president of Hydro Solutions of CA, Inc., will discuss the effects of pollution on real estate transactions, as well as how to flag potential pollution problems.

Lender's liability and due diligence requirements under current hazardous waste and clean-up laws will be discussed by Anne N. Lanphar and Roger A. Grable, both attorneys with Rutan & Tucker. Clifford Morgan, vice president-associate senior title officer with First American Title Insurance Company, will address Environmental Lien Coverage, the 1987 ALTA Loan Policy and Endorsements, and the Recorded Document Guarantee as an aid to due diligence.
