First American Title's vice president of operations elected to board of directors ...

Lawrence M. White of Irvine, Calif., vice president of operations of First American Title Insurance Company, was recently elected to the board of directors of Peoples Abstract Company of Des Moines, Iowa, according to President Sidney Ramey.

White has been with First American since 1959, when he worked as a poster while attending college. He advanced to title plant manager in Orange County, then was put in charge of plant reorganization in branch offices. In 1972, he was promoted to vice president and Orange County Title Division manager.

In addition to his position as vice president-operations, which he has held since 1976, he also is regional vice president for Hawaii and a member of the company's board of directors. White is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton.
