The average sales price of a single family detached home increased $29,561 during the last year, according to the figures compiled by First American Title Insurance Company's market research department.
Activity has been strong in Antelope Valley, with 106 new projects scheduled to begin sales during the year. The overall sales average increased from last year with an average of 1.3 sales per week.
At the survey's close, 34 single family detached projects were selling at an average price of $133,691. Last year's average price was $104,130. Of 4,514 total proposed units, 2,343 were sold at the end of 1988. Square footage averaged 1,729 per home with a value ratio of $77.32 per square foot. Prices ranged from a high of $265,000 for a 3,090-square-foot, five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home to a low of $82,950 for a 1,149-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath home.
All the survey data collected reflects inventory available for sale between the survey dates of December 5, 1988, and January 5, 1989.
