Anthony R. Moiso elected to board of directors of The First American Financial Corporation

Santa Margarita Company is responsible for all the ranching, farming, development, leasing activity and financial management efforts on the historic Rancho Mission Viejo in South Orange County.
Moiso, 50, founded in 1983 the Santa Margarita Company, which currently is developing the 5000-acre Rancho Santa Margarita planned community. The town, which opened in May 1986, is situated on the 40,000-acre Rancho Mission Viejo, Orange County's second largest privately owned land holding.
The new First American Financial director joined the Mission Viejo Company in 1965 and eventually became the firm's executive vice president until its sale in 1972 to the Philip Morris Company. Subsequently, in 1974, Moiso was named president of Rancho Mission Viejo.
Moiso is a seventh generation Californian and is the great-grandson of Richard O'Neill, who with a partner purchased the huge Rancho Santa Margarita y las Flores in 1882. This extensive land holding spanned 359 square miles and stretched from Aliso Creek in Orange County to Oceanside in San Diego County. Today the original Ranch is known as Rancho Mission Viejo.
Moiso graduated from Stanford University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in history and political science. Active in many Orange County community organizations, he lives in Laguna Beach with his wife Melinda. Mr. and Mrs. Moiso have four daughters, Katrina, Cristy, Anne Marie and Frandy.
