October 30, 1991, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
In February, Vogt was named president of Security Title & Trust Company of Alaska, a wholly owned subsidiary of First American. Since that time, he has expanded the state's agency network to include an additional 20 recording districts. With the addition of two new agents, TransAlaska Title and Yukon Title, to the existing agents, Alaska First and Title Insurance Agency, First American is now the number one title insurance underwriter in the state.
"For the first time First American's operation in Alaska is standing on its own," Vogt said. "We are now able to give localized support to our Alaska agents."
Vogt has 17 years experience in the title insurance industry throughout the Western United States, including Honolulu, Phoenix, Seattle, and Northern California. He has lived a total of 13 years in Alaska, working in Fairbanks, Juneau and Anchorage. He was sales manager for Security Title in the mid-70's and during the 1980's was Washington state manager for another title company.
Vogt has been very involved in various community organizations, including the Anchorage East Rotary Club and the Intercollegiate Athletic Board for the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Vogt received the Gene Guess Award for outstanding contributions to the Anchorage community in 1980.
