"We have continually over the years added branch operations to our network," President Parker S. Kennedy said. "This purchase is an excellent addition to our branch network. We are now in all the largest cities in Texas."
Dennie Rowland, regional vice president and Texas state manager, has named Rick Radigan division president in San Antonio. Radigan, a 15-year employee of First American, was most recently with the company's Fort Worth division. Justin D. Rowland, a former co-owner of the agency, has been appointed vice president of the company's Texas subsidiary, concentrating on the commercial market as well as assisting with management responsibilities. Carl H. Pfeiffer, who had served as chairman of the board, is retiring. First American entered the Texas market when they purchased a title insurance underwriter from the Pfeiffer family in 1968.
Other key appointments include Jim Heath, John Lugo and Shirley Stingily, who were each promoted to assistant vice president-escrow officer, and Joel Clark, who has been appointed assistant vice president-controller. The division serving Bexar County presently has 25 employees and Radigan expects it to grow.
The county's main office, which has been renamed First American Title Insurance Company of Texas, is located on N.W. Loop 410.
