First American Title promotes James Costello to regional vice president

James M. Costello of Plainfield, Illinois, has been promoted to regional vice president for First American Title Insurance Company, according to President Parker S. Kennedy. He had previously served for 15 years as vice president-state manager of the state.

A native of Illinois, Costello has been involved in the title insurance industry for 28 years, beginning as a title examiner. He joined St. Paul Title Insurance Corporation in 1978 as state manager, a position he continued to hold after the company was purchased by First American Title Insurance Company in 1982.

Costello earned his bachelor's degree from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and his juris doctor from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a graduate of the Management Development Program at the University of Chicago. Costello has taken leadership roles in several civic and professional organizations. He is a past president of the Illinois Land Title Association.
