First American Title promotes Richard E. Garlick to vice president- Colorado state manager

Garlick has had a 25-year career in the title industry, and joined First American in 1977 as manager of title operations for its Los Angeles subsidiary. In 1985 he was transferred to Seattle for two years, after which he joined the company's national underwriting staff in Santa Ana, Calif. As assistant senior underwriter, he has specialized in transactions throughout the United States, particularly those in Colorado and other Rocky Mountain states.
Garlick, who will be responsible for the company's agency operations in the state, will relocate to Colorado from Placentia, Calif. He will establish a First American office in Denver to better service the First American agency network in Colorado. First American ranks number one among title underwriters for premiums written in Colorado.
Garlick received an associate of science degree in real estate and escrow from Chaffey College in Alta Loma, Calif. He has been active in professional and civic organizations, including a four-year term on the legislative committee of the California Land Title Association and a term as president of a local Rotary International club.
