First American Title Insurance Company announced today the purchase of Albany County Title, Inc. (ACT), located in Laramie, Wyoming, from Kerry C. Blount, president. The company had been First American's agent in Albany County since 1959. Terms were not disclosed.

ACT was established in 1910. The company has the only title plant in the county, containing records dating back to 1869. Blount, whose family purchased ACT in 1946, will stay on as manager of the operation. She had owned the company since 1979.

"ACT has been well-run and profitable," said Parker S. Kennedy, president of First American. "The firm's longevity in the community, its good reputation and its excellent title plant make this a great acquisition. ACT will be a welcome addition to our operations in Wyoming."
