December 9, 1994, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Scott W. Harmon has been appointed to the position of Northern California regional controller for First American Title Insurance Company, according to President Parker S. Kennedy.

Harmon joined First American's corporate staff in 1981 as an auditor, a position he held until 1986 when he became manager of accounting systems. In 1992, he was promoted to the position of assistant treasurer, which he held until accepting this new position.

As regional controller, Harmon will be responsible for the company's regional accounting for the two regions, a total of 32 counties, in Northern California. He will be based in San Francisco.

"I'm very pleased that we had someone already on board who was qualified for this position," said Tom Klemens, vice president-chief financial officer. "His familiarity with First American together with his experience at the corporate level have uniquely prepared him to be a regional controller."

Harmon received his bachelor's degree in accounting as well as his master's of business administration from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1983. A long-time resident of Laguna Beach, Harmon will be moving to the Bay Area.
