The MAME awards annually honor merchandising and marketing excellence within the Southern California building industry. The awards celebrated their 20th anniversary this year, and are sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry of Southern California (BIA/SC).
Hoover began his career with First American in 1973 in title production and subsequently, became a residential resale representative. From 1978 until 1980, he acted as a subdivision consultant to the builders and developers. Hoover served as director of sales and marketing for First American in Sacramento from 1980 to 1984 at which time he returned to First American's Orange County branch office as manager of residential construction and builder/developer services.
Hoover is active in the building industry, including serving on the board of directors of the BIA/SC since 1986 and the BIA of Orange County (BIA/OC) since 1988. He also served on the boards of directors for the Home Builders Council for five years and the Sales and Marketing Council for two years. In 1991, he was honored as the Volunteer of the Year by the BIA/OC and as the Associate of the Year from Orange County by the BIA/SC.
Hoover and his wife Patty currently reside in Newport Beach, California.
