K. Gene Aalseth joins the national underwriting department of First American ...


K. Gene Aalseth has joined First American Title Insurance Company's national underwriting department as a vice president-assistant senior underwriter. He has moved to First American's national headquarters in Santa Ana from its San Jose subsidiary, First American Title Guaranty Company.

Aalseth has over 16 years experience in the title insurance business. Before joining First American, he spent six years at another title insurer, starting as a branch manager and progressing to the position of counsel for San Francisco County. Aalseth has been with First American in San Jose since 1983, when he was hired as a chief title officer. He served as vice president-title counsel from 1984 until this recent move.

Aalseth received a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his juris doctor from the University of Santa Clara. In addition to his professional obligations, he was also an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Aalseth and his wife Teri live in Lake Forest, California, with their two sons.
