Nancy Pettus appointed as Programs Vice-Chair of the Labor and Employment Law ...

Pettus was appointed to this position for a period of one year beginning at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association in New Orleans in August 1994. The appointment was announced by Incoming Chair Allan J. Tanenbaum.
"Our Committees are the backbone of the Section," Tanenbaum said. "If they are not led by able and committed volunteer lawyers, the work of the Section grinds to a halt.
"In accepting this appointment, Nancy M. Pettus has committed to work diligently and without compensation on behalf of the Section," Tanenbaum continued. "The selection of Nancy M. Pettus is a tribute to the leadership which she has shown among lawyers at the national level."
Pettus received her bachelor of arts degree from California State University at Los Angeles and her juris doctor from Loyola University School of Law. She counsels First American in matters pertaining to all aspects of labor relations, including wrongful discharge, wage and hour issues, employment discrimination, equal employment opportunity, government compliance and welfare benefit plans.
Prior to joining First American's national legal department in January 1987, Pettus practiced real estate law and estate planning in Orange County. She is a resident of Irvine, California.
