Richard P. Pauletich has been named regional vice president for First American Title Insurance Company, according to President Parker S. Kennedy.

Pauletich is chairman and chief executive officer of the company's subsidiary, First American Title Guaranty Company, headquartered in Oakland. He joined the company in 1984 as vice president-administration, and was named executive vice president in 1986, president in 1988 and chairman and chief executive officer in 1993. Prior to joining First American, he had been employed for 18 years with another national title insurance company where he served as vice president and regional manager for Northern California.

Pauletich, 59, is a native of the Bay Area and a 1956 graduate of Stanford. He has served on the board of governors of the California Land Title Association and as a director of numerous community organizations. He and his wife, Margaret, reside in Orinda.

Pauletich replaces William B. Morrish who is retiring after having served as First American's regional vice president and the Oakland subsidiary's chief executive officer since 1970.
