Merlo joins First American with over 16 years of experience in the residential lending business. Most recently, he was the owner and president of Geneva Financial Corporation in Pittsburgh.
"Tony's relationship with local lenders will give us an extra edge in the North Atlantic region's commercial market," said Regional Vice President Michael F. Frederick, Jr. "His real estate contacts will also help to increase our already extensive agency network."
Merlo has been involved in numerous industry-related organizations, including having served as chairman of the Kennett Square Planning Commission from 1989-91. He has also served on committees for the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Boards of Realtors as well as the Mortgage Bankers Association of Pennsylvania.
Merlo attended Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. He and his wife Kelly reside in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, with their three daughters.
