First American Title names Phillip A. Poitevin vice president- state manager of Mississippi

As state manager, Poitevin will be responsible for all title insurance and abstracting matters in Mississippi. He has been with First American since 1990, starting as underwriting counsel and later becoming president of First American Abstract Company in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to joining First American, Poitevin worked for another national title insurer, practiced law and performed oil and gas title work.
Poitevin is active in industry organizations. He has been a member of the Mississippi State Bar Association since 1982, and is also a member of the Hinds County Bar Association and Tri-County Real Estate Attorneys. Poitevin is a member of the Dixie Land Title Association and currently serves on its legislative committee.
Poitevin received his bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, and his juris doctor degree from Mississippi College School of Law in Clinton. He and his wife Susan live in Camden, Mississippi, and are the parents of five children.
