Duff is a senior vice president with First American Title Insurance Company. He was nominated to the position of NAHB associate director by the Board of Directors of the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC). Duff was also elected by the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) to the position of associate director NAHB as the only associate from the state of California. According to CBIA President, Jack Shine of Los Angeles, Duff was also appointed to the NAHB Associate Advisory Council, named chairman of the NAHB Associate Membership Committee, and given responsibility as liaison to the NAHB Residential Builders Committee.
The two new appointments add to Duff's long list of appointments and achievements on behalf of both the NAHB and the CBIA. This year marks the seventh consecutive time he has been named NAHB associate director. At the national convention in 1994, Duff was inducted into the Society of Honored Associates.
Associates, or non-builder members, make up 70 percent of California's over 6,000 members. Nationally, the rolls include over 120,000 associate members.
Duff's achievements and honors span both the local and national levels. He is active in many industry organizations, including involvement with the California Land Title Association Legislative Committee, the Association of Real Estate Attorneys, the NAHB Build-Pac Political Action Committee, the NAHB Membership Committee, and the Title Insurance Industry's Governmental Action Committee.
Duff is also a lifetime honorary member of the board of directors for the Building Industry Association of Orange County (BIA/OC). He also serves as a director from industry for the BIASC board of directors.
The long-time title executive has authored several pamphlets covering real estate-related subjects. He is a licensed auctioneer and donates his time and talent by assisting in various charity auctions for groups such as the Special Olympics, Diabetes Association, Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society and many others. Duff and his wife Charyl live in the Upper Newport Bay area.
