Gary L. Kermott promoted to executive vice president of First American Title Insurance Company
October 24, 1996, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
As executive vice president, Kermott will work closely with President Parker S. Kennedy to oversee title operations throughout the country. In addition, he has been named state manager for California, a new position, and he will also retain his post as regional vice president for Arizona.
Kermott began his career with First American in 1983 while attending law school at Western State University. When he passed the bar in 1985, he was promoted to assistant counsel on national staff, a position he held until 1988, when he transferred to Phoenix as associate counsel for the state office. Later that year he moved to Tucson to manage the Pima County operation. In 1990 he returned to Phoenix to serve as president of the company's Arizona division. While there, he managed the Maricopa County branch as well as serving as regional vice president for Arizona and Utah.
"We are pleased to welcome Gary to national staff," Kennedy said. "He has done a great job in all of the positions he has held, and I look forward to working closely with him."
Kermott earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington. He has been active with civic groups in Arizona, including YPO (Young Presidents Organization). He and his wife Debby, along with their two sons, will be relocating to Orange County.
