Peter C. Keenan named Louisiana state manager for First American Title Insurance Company

Keenan's career in the title industry began when he was named vice president of a New Orleans title company in 1975. Two years later he went to work for another title company. While there, he also started Keenan Title Agency, where he served as president and owner after leaving the other title agency in 1989. He was hired by First American in 1990 where he served as state counsel until being promoted to his current position. Lillian E. Eyrich succeeds Keenan as Louisiana state counsel.
Keenan holds a bachelor of science degree from Centenary College of Louisiana, and a doctor of jurisprudence from Tulane Law School in New Orleans. He is a former president of the Louisiana Land Title Association, and is a member of the American Land Title Association, the Louisiana State Bar, and the American, New Orleans and Jefferson Bar associations. In addition, Keenan serves on the Title Insurance Legislation Task Force and on the Louisiana State Bar's Uniform Title Standards Committee. He is also a member of the Liaison Committee composed of title underwriters and the Louisiana Department of Insurance. A native of Biloxi, Mississippi, Keenan lives with his wife, Gwen, in Metairie. They have four children.
