Sherrie Bowers-Walker named vice president and Georgia state manager


October 21, 1997, SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Sherrie Bowers-Walker has been named vice president and Georgia state manager for First American Title Insurance Company in Atlanta, announced Parker S. Kennedy, president of the Santa Ana, California-based company. In her new capacity, Bowers-Walker will be responsible for sales and management of Georgia operations.

Bowers-Walker has worked in the Atlanta mortgage and title industry for the last 25 years, having started with First Mortgage Corporation of Virginia. In 1976, she was hired as operations manager for Advanced Mortgage Corporation, where she remained for three years before being hired by Verex Assurance Company as a sales representative. In 1982 she joined a local title insurance company as an account executive. Bowers-Walker was hired by First American as state agency manager in 1986, her most recent position.

Bowers-Walker is on the board of directors for the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers, and is also a member of the Association of Professional Mortgage Women and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. A Georgia native, Bowers-Walker lives in Roswell with her husband, Eric, and their three children.
