Carl Bauchle appointed president of SMS Settlement Services, Inc.

Before joining SMS, Bauchle started in the title industry 14 years ago as vice president with Fidelity Title & Guaranty Company, in Winter Park, Florida. Prior to this, he worked in various non-real estate management positions in the cities of Orlando and Winter Park.
Bauchle holds a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been involved with numerous professional and civic organizations throughout Florida, and has served on the boards of directors for both the Florida Land Title Association and the Central Florida Title Association, and also served as president of the latter. Bauchle currently serves as president-elect and board member for the Rotary Club of Orlando, and as treasurer and board member for the Legacy Soccer Foundation. Bauchle has also been involved with the Olympic Soccer Organizing Committee as soccer committee co-chair, and on the World Cup 94 Orlando Kissimmee Host Committee. He was also a division chair for the Heart of Florida United Way.
Born in Maryland, Bauchle has lived in Florida for the past 41 years. He and his wife, Laura, live in Orlando with their two children, and will soon be relocating to California.
Carlile has been involved with information technology for the past 39 years, having started with Prudential Insurance Company as a senior systems analyst in Newark, New Jersey. In 1971, he became manager of data processing for Hughes Aircraft Company in Fullerton, California, where he remained for 13 years until accepting the position of president for Global Data Corp. in Anaheim. In 1990, Carlile became president of Specialized Management Support in Costa Mesa, a position he held until becoming president of Accurate Networks in Irvine in 1995. A year later he started Strategic Mortgage Services, Inc., serving as president until his company’s acquisition by First American a year ago.
Carlile attended Seton Hall University where he majored in mathematics. Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Carlile has spent the last 39 years in California, where he lives with his wife, Ellie, in the city of Orange. The couple has six children.
