Elia W. Long named vice president-state manager of Hawaii

Elia W. Long has been named vice president-state manager of Hawaii for First American Title Insurance Company, announced Parker S. Kennedy, president of the Santa Ana, California-based company. Long is also president and CEO of the company’s Hawaii subsidiary, First American Long & Melone Title Company, Ltd.

Long will be responsible for title and escrow operations, financial and business development and management for the state of Hawaii.

Long has 16 years of experience in the title insurance industry, having started at Long & Melone as vice president in 1982. Ten years later he was named president and CEO of the company, a position he continues to hold with First American Long & Melone Title Company, Ltd., the company’s new name after its acquisition by First American.

Long attended the University of San Diego where he majored in business administration. He is a current member of the Hawaii Escrow Association and is the treasurer of the Hawaii Land Title Association. A native of Hawaii, Long lives in Kailua with his wife, Catherine, and their two children.
