Ernie Phillips named regional vice president of New Mexico

Phillips has 40 years of title experience, having started as a document poster and runner for a Las Cruces, New Mexico, title company in 1958. He joined Arizona Title Insurance and Trust Company, a subsidiary of First American, in 1962 as a title examiner. He has since served in such positions as senior title examiner-assistant manager, vice president-Pinal County manager, vice president-title department production manager, and president and manager of the First American Coconino County subsidiary. In 1978, Phillips transferred to Albuquerque to accept the appointment to chairman of the board of First American Title Company of New Mexico, a position he currently holds. In 1979, Phillips was also named vice president-state manager for First American Title Insurance Company.
Phillips holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from New Mexico State University, in Las Cruces. Phillips and his wife, Malba, live in Albuquerque, and they have three grown children.
