Gary F. Casaly named senior counsel of First American Title Insurance Company

Casaly will retain his current position of vice president, and will be responsible for general supervision of legal matters in the Northeast regional office. Gurvits will be responsible for the legal departments of six New England states.
Casaly has over 20 years of experience in real estate law, having joined the Massachusetts branch of First American Title Insurance Company as counsel in 1975. Three years later he was named vice president-regional counsel, a position he has held for the last 19 years.
Casaly holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Boston University, and a juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School. Casaly served as president of the Boone Lake Improvement Association in Exeter, Rhode Island, from 1992 until 1997, and as entertainment chair for the Blue Hills Civic Association in Canton, Massachusetts, in 1989.
A native of Massachusetts, Casaly lives in Canton with his wife, Barbara.
Gurvits joined First American as counsel in 1987. For three years prior to this, he worked as an attorney for Sheridan, Garrahan and Lander, in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Gurvits graduated from Brandeis University with a bachelor of arts degree in 1981, and from Boston University Law School with a juris doctor in 1984. He is currently a member of the board of directors for the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association, and a member of the property law council of the Massachusetts Bar Association. In addition, Gurvits was a member of Boston’s Combined Jewish Philanthropies Resettlement Committee, from 1986 until 1991.
A native of Odessa, Ukraine, Gurvits resides in Newtonville, Massachusetts, with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children.
