Jo Etta Bandy named Director of Communications


The First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), the leading provider of real estate-related financial and information services, announced today that Jo Etta Bandy has been named director of communications for the company. Bandy takes over for Kathy Munson Snyder, who has relocated to Colorado. Bandy, who will work out of the Santa Ana, California, corporate office, is responsible for managing the company’s communications department. Snyder will continue working for the company and will focus on employee communications.

Bandy joins First American with 18 years of experience in corporate communications and investor relations. From 1995, Bandy worked for the Irvine-based financial public relations consulting firm, Market Pathways Financial Relations Incorporated, where she served as vice president of broker and media relations. Before that, she served four years as vice president–investor relations for Fidelity National Financial, Inc., the holding company of a major title insurance firm also located in Irvine. From 1980 through 1990, Bandy worked for Covington Development Group, Inc., serving in numerous management positions, including vice president of corporate communications, director of investor relations and corporate secretary.

Bandy holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications–public relations sequence from California State University, Fullerton. Bandy is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and is a fifth-year board member for the organization’s Orange County Chapter, where she has served as membership committee chairperson, communications committee chairperson and a member at large.

A native of California, Bandy lives in La Habra Heights with her husband, Greg, and their two-year-old daughter.

Snyder has been with First American since 1988. Since then, she has served as both director of communications and investor relations. Prior to joining First American, Snyder worked in the public relations department of Chapman University located in Orange, California.

Snyder holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications/PR and a master’s degree in business administration from Chapman University. She currently serves as president of the Chapman University Alumni Association Board, and has served on the board of directors for the Orange County Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute.

A native of California, Snyder is relocating to Denver with her husband, Bryan.
