Rudy E. Wahlsten named South Dakota state manager

Wahlsten retains his position of state manager-Minnesota and executive vice president for First American’s subsidiary, Consolidated Title & Abstract, as well as his position of senior vice president for First American’s Edina, Minnesota, subsidiary, formerly known as Universal Title Insurance Company.
Wahlsten’s title career began in 1973 with Consolidated Title & Abstract where he served as executive vice president. In 1984, Wahlsten was hired by Universal Title Insurance Company, in Burnsville, Minnesota, as county manager. He held that position for four years until the company was acquired by First American, and he was named vice president & state manager. In 1995, Consolidated Title & Abstract was acquired by First American, and Wahlsten rejoined the subsidiary as executive vice president, a position he currently holds. In addition, Wahlsten was named senior vice president for Universal Title Company in 1996, a position he also currently holds.
Wahlsten holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Minnesota. He is a past president of the Minnesota Land Title Association, and has been involved with the Minnesota Real Estate Services Association, for which he served as secretary. A native of Duluth, Wahlsten lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Susan. The couple has three children.
