Morey started with First American as a district manager with the company's office in Palm Desert, California, in 1979. Two years later he transferred to the Santa Ana office to accept a position in commercial sales, which he held until being promoted to vice president-national marketing supervisor in 1984. Prior to joining First American, Morey worked as a real estate salesman with Country Club Properties in Palm Springs, California.
Morey attended College of the Desert, in Palm Desert, California, for which he is a past president of the Boosters Club. In addition, he also served on the advisory board for the Palm Desert Leukemia Chapter and the American Cancer Society, in Riverside. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Morey has lived in California for the past 30 years. He and his wife, Barbara, live in the city of Laguna Niguel.
