Turalu Brady Murdock named vice president-Caribbean operations

Turalu Brady Murdock has been named vice president-Caribbean operations for First American Title Insurance Company, according to President Parker S. Kennedy. Murdock is responsible for business development in common law jurisdictions in the Caribbean and Puerto Rico.

Murdock started with First American in 1976 as a law clerk at the corporate office in Santa Ana, California. Two years later, she transferred to the Denver, Colorado, office to accept the position of vice president-regional counsel. Eight years later, she returned to the Santa Ana office to accept the position of vice president-associate claims counsel. In 1993, Murdock relocated to the New Orleans, Louisiana, office after being promoted to vice president-southeast operations, her most recent position.

Murdock holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a juris doctor from Western State College of Law, in Fullerton, California.

Murdock is a current member of the American Land Title Association, and the American, California, and Colorado bar associations. In addition, she is actively involved with several other organizations, among them the Louise S. McGhee School, in New Orleans, where she serves on the board of directors. She is also a member of the board’s executive committee, and serves as chairperson on the long-range planning committee. Murdock is also a member of the California Teachers Association, and has been active in parent-teacher associations in Colorado and California, for which she has served on local boards of directors. She is a past president of the Louisiana Peace Corps Association, and the Orange County Peace Corps Association. Recently, Murdock served on the board of directors for the National Peace Corps Association, where she was vice-chair of the board and chair of the presidents.
