FIRST AMERICAN FINANCIAL DECLARES QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDEND


February 26, 1999, SANTA ANA, Calif.

The First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), the nation's leading provider of real estate-related information products and services, announced today that its board of directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 6 cents per common share.

The cash dividend is payable on April 15, 1999, to shareholders of record as of March 31, 1999. First American has paid a cash dividend every year since 1909.
