First American Title names Stephen C. Torneo to the position of vice president-subdivision projects

Torneo started with First American as associate claims counsel for the Santa Ana, Calif., corporate office in 1986. Later that same year, he transferred to the company's Riverside, Calif., office as regional claims counsel, a position he held until 1997 when he left the company to join another California title company for which he served as county manager for Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange counties. Prior to joining First American, Torneo served as associate counsel for the law firm of Rose, Klein & Marias in Long Beach, Calif., and as Southern California sales manager for the Northridge, Calif., office of Great Western Savings.
Torneo, who is a member of the State Bar of California, holds a bachelor of arts degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Calif., and a juris doctor from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, Calif. Torneo lives in the city of Yorba Linda with his wife, Karen, and their two daughters.
