Jonathan D. Nichols named vice president-underwriting for First American Title ...

Nichols, who has 22 years of title-industry experience, started with First American's Santa Barbara, Calif., office in 1977. A year later, he was promoted to sales representative, a position he held for a year before transferring to the Hartford, Conn., office in the same position. In 1983, Nichols was named assistant vice president of the New Haven, Conn., office, where he remained for two years until leaving First American to run his own title searching service. In June 1986, Nichols rejoined First American as assistant vice president-branch manager of the New Haven office. Two years later, Nichols transferred to the Stamford, Conn., office as vice president-branch manager. In 1989, Nichols was promoted to vice president-Connecticut state manager, his most recent position.
Nichols attended Michigan State University, the University of Connecticut and Golden Gate University. Nichols is a member of the American Land Title Association, where he serves on the Recruitment and Retention Committee. In addition, he is a member and past president of the Connecticut Title Association. Born in Newton, Mass., Nichols lives in Branford, Conn., with his three children.
