DATA TRACE NAMES MICHAEL T. HENNEY PRESIDENT
August 14, 2000, ANAHEIM, Calif.
Henney, who served as division president of Smart Title Solutions prior to its combination with LandAmerica's Datatrace on July 31, will oversee the operations of the most advanced and comprehensive title information delivery system in the world.
In his new position, Henney will serve as president of the combined businesses, which use the Internet, private networks and proprietary Web-enabled software, to connect a number of independent, regional title databases into a standardized national title information data center. By combining the primary information used by title companies to render title decisions into a single desktop application, Data Trace provides a major step toward the development of a single-seat production system that offers the ability to search and process title transactions nationwide from a single location.
"Mike's knowledge and experience are exactly what we need to expand industry adoption of the Data Trace technology," said Dennis J. Gilmore, president of First American's Database Information and Services Group. "He is well known among title underwriters and has a track record of success in delivering title information technology."
Henney began his career in the title information industry in 1968 working as a tax searcher-trainee for Municipal Lien Service in San Diego, Calif. He has held positions as vice president of title information systems for TRW Real Estate Information Services, and senior vice president of title information systems for TRW REDI Property Data. Henney was named division president of Smart Title Solutions in 1997 when Experian, formerly TRW Information Systems & Services, merged its real estate information businesses with First American's Real Estate Information Services division.
