First American Financial Names John W. Long President of CIC, Inc.

Long, who will retain his position on the board of directors of First American Title Insurance Company, will continue to serve as executive vice president of The First American Financial Corporation and president of First American Real Estate Solutions LLC, a joint venture between First American and Experian Group. Long's duties on the mortgage information side will continue to include, among other things, overseeing certain major accounts relationships and contributing to First American's overall mortgage strategy, including new product development.
Long is a 21-year veteran of the tax service industry. He began his career with Ticor Realty Tax Service, which First American acquired in 1991. Long left Ticor in 1986 to start his own company, New York-based Metropolitan Realty Tax Service, for which he served as president. First American acquired Metropolitan in 1990, making it a part of First American Real Estate Tax Service. Long continued with the company as eastern regional vice president and marketing director. He was promoted to executive vice president in 1991 and was named president in 1993. Long continued as president when the company changed its name to First American Real Estate Information Services a year later.
Long holds a master's degree in business administration from Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. He lives in Tierra Verde, Fla., with his wife, Cathy. Long is the father of three children.
