FIRST AMERICAN TITLE INSURANCE COMPANY NAMES K. GENE AALSETH DIRECTOR OF EXCHANGE COMPANY OPERATIONS

A veteran of the industry, Aalseth has over 20 years of title experience. In 1983, he joined the San Jose, Calif. office of First American's subsidiary, First American Title Guaranty Company, as chief title officer, then later served as title counsel. While there, he was instrumental in setting up the exchange company operations. Aalseth moved to First American Title Insurance Company's corporate headquarters in 1994 to become associate senior underwriter. In 1998, he was named project director for First American's Year 2000 compliance program and was charged with ensuring that all computer systems and date-sensitive facilities would not be impacted by the changing century. An active member of the California Land Title Association, Aalseth has served on the Forms and Practices and Legislative committees.
After receiving a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Aalseth went on to earn a juris doctor from the University of Santa Clara. In 1979, he was admitted to the practice of law in California. He and his wife, Teri, live in Lake Forest, Calif. with their two sons.
