John N. Casbon Named EVP of First American Title Insurance Company

In his new position, Casbon will serve as president of First American Transportation Title Insurance Company, which provides title insurance coverage for aircraft, vessel and other non-land ventures; oversee the company's multiproduct cross-selling efforts; and monitor governmental affairs in Washington, D.C., for all entities of First American's operations.

Casbon, who has served as regional vice president since 1989, began his tenure with First American in 1977 as sales manager for the state of Florida. Two years later, he was promoted to state manager for Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. In 1989, he was named regional vice president, overseeing the company's southeastern region, including operations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and the Caribbean.
Casbon graduated from Florida State University with degrees in both real estate finance and hotel management. He founded and currently serves on the board of the New Orleans Police Foundation. Casbon also serves on the boards of various area organizations, including the Business Council of New Orleans, The Chamber/New Orleans & the River Region, the Audubon Park Commission, The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Since 1998, he has received the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award, the Anti-Defamation League's A.I. Botnick Torch of Liberty Award, the Young Leadership Council's Role Model Award and the Mayor's Medal of Honor. A Florida native, Casbon resides in New Orleans with his wife, Ann, and their two daughters.
