John Thoma named Alaska state manager for First American Title
March 17, 2000, SANTA ANA, Calif.
Thoma joined First American as Northwest regional controller in 1996 and was named to the additional position of chief financial officer for the company's Oregon subsidiary in 1997. Prior to joining First American, Thoma served as senior manager for Price Waterhouse LLC in Portland, Ore.
Thoma holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Oregon in Eugene. He is currently involved with such Portland-area organizations as the Portland Chamber of Commerce, where he is a member of the Top Ten Growth Awards Committee; the Financial Executives Institute, where he serves as Career Services Chairman; Phi Gamma Delta Graduate Corporation, where he serves as treasurer; and the City Club of Portland. Born in Eau Claire, Wis., Thoma currently lives in Portland, Ore., with his wife, Christine, their daughter, Mary, and their son, Harrison.
