Robert W. Duff receives award of appreciation from Build-Pac and the NAHB
February 3, 2000, SANTA ANA, Calif.
The award, which was presented to Duff on Jan. 16, 2000, at the NAHB's Associate Members Standing Committee Awards Breakfast in Dallas, recognizes Duff's dedication to the NAHB and Build-Pac through his many accomplishments and fundraising efforts both locally and nationally.
Duff, who is in charge of both national subdivision and the land development division for First American out of the company's Santa Ana, Calif., corporate office, was also recently appointed to the NAHB's Associate Members Committee on Dec. 21, 1999, by Bruce C. Smith, vice president and treasurer for the NAHB. In addition, Duff was also appointed to the organization's Associate Standing Committee for 2000-2001. His involvement with real estate industry organizations includes the California Land Title Association, the Association of Real Estate Attorneys, the Build-Pac Political Action Committee, the NAHB Membership Committee and the California Building Industry Association's Membership Committee. Duff was also a member of the NAHB Associate Advisory Council, named chairman of the NAHB Associate Membership Committee and given responsibility as a liaison to the NAHB Residential Builders Committee.
Duff was the recipient of the 1996 Associate of the Year award and was named the first nonbuilder from California, and the fifth NAHB associate member, to achieve Life Director status in the NAHB.
Duff also holds the 1996 Bill O'Neill award from the Pacific Coast Builders' Conference (PCBC). The award, which represents the highest honor bestowed by the PCBC, is presented to a member of the exhibitor community who has made significant contributions to the California building industry and the PCBC.
Duff is an honorary, lifetime member of the board of directors for the Building Industry Association of Orange County. He currently serves as a director from industry for the Building Industry Association of Southern California.
A longtime title executive, Duff has authored several booklets covering real estate-related subjects. He is a licensed auctioneer and donates his time and talent by assisting in various charity auctions for groups such as the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, Children's Hospital of Orange County, Special Olympics, and others. Duff and his wife, Charyl, live in the Upper Newport Bay area of Orange County, Calif.
