GRETCHEN DEMARTINI VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), the nation's leading provider of business information and related products and services, today announced that Gretchen Demartini has been named vice president of human resources and will assume responsibility for the development of human resources strategy and policy for all subsidiaries and affiliates of The First American Corporation.

A seasoned professional in the field of human resources, Demartini brings more than 20 years of experience to her new position. She will oversee a variety of issues including compensation, mergers and acquisitions, training and organizational development, staffing and human resources support for the company's various business units.

Demartini initially joined the company in 1995 as vice president of human resources for First American Real Estate Information Services, a subsidiary of The First American Corporation. In 1997, she was named senior vice president of human resources for that division.

A native of New Jersey, Demartini holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Montclair State College and a master's degree in industrial psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology. She currently lives in Clearwater, Fla., with her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters, Megan and Jennifer.
