NANCY MILLEEN PETTUS VICE PRESIDENT AND COUNSEL
FOR HUMAN

The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), the nation's leading provider of business information and related products and services, today announced that Nancy Milleen Pettus has been named vice president and counsel for human resources.

In her new position, Pettus will provide counsel to subsidiaries and affiliates of The First American Corporation in matters pertaining to all aspects of labor relations, government compliance and welfare benefit plans. Pettus joined First American's national legal department in January 1987 and, most recently, had served as vice president-personnel counsel for the corporation's principal subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Company.

After earning a bachelor's degree in Music Performance from California State University at Los Angeles, Pettus went on to complete her juris doctor at Loyola Law School. She is active in numerous professional groups, including the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association and Orange County Women Lawyers, and is a frequent speaker at various bar conventions and land title association meetings.

A resident of Laguna Beach, Calif., Pettus is the mother of two daughters.
